When a Field Isn't Filled In
Sometimes RelistKit leaves a field empty, on Poshmark or on a cross-listing. This is on purpose, and the panel always tells you what to do next. This article explains what each message means, and what to do about it.
Read the panel
Each field has a row in the RelistKit panel, with a label beside its name:
- Filled: RelistKit filled it in.
- Kept your value: the field already had something in it, so RelistKit left it alone. Click Copy if you'd rather use RelistKit's suggestion.
- Not on this form: the marketplace has no such field for this category. There's nothing to do.
A row with no label has a note telling you what to do. At the top of the panel, Filled means everything went in, and Partial means at least one field needs you: look for the highlighted rows.
"Not read from the photos"
RelistKit couldn't see the detail with confidence. Common reasons:
- the size tag was blurry
- the brand wasn't shown
- the material wasn't on a label
It leaves the field empty rather than guess.
- Read the panel's note under the empty field: it often says how to work it out.
- Enter the value in the form yourself.
Your answer is remembered for cross-listing. Next time, a sharp, straight-on photo of the tag helps.
"Automatic fill could not reach this field"
The marketplace's form didn't accept the value where RelistKit expected. The value is right there in the panel.
- Click Copy beside the value in the panel.
- Click into the field on the page, and paste.
This happens most on eBay, whose form changes often. If a marketplace has changed its page, the panel says so, and highlights every field to copy.
"No exact match in the form's options"
RelistKit had a value, but the marketplace's dropdown doesn't offer it under that name.
- Click Copy beside the value in the panel.
- Open the field's dropdown on the page, and choose the closest option, or type the value where the form allows it.
On Depop and Facebook Marketplace, some fields only appear once the category is set. If the category didn't match, set it first, and the size, colour and brand fields appear.
A detail the marketplace requires
Some categories need a choice RelistKit has no value for, like an eBay item specific (a sleeve length or a pattern). The panel lists them, with a note like "eBay requires this for…" or "Pick it on the form". Choose them from the marketplace's own dropdowns.
Some rows are for your information only. Poshmark has no field for country of origin, for example, so the panel shows it with a note, for you to copy into the description if you want.
The panel says it's waiting
The marketplace's form is still loading. eBay in particular can take a while, because RelistKit fills so many of its fields. Let it wait.
If nothing happens after a minute or so:
- Close the marketplace's tab.
- Go back to the item page in RelistKit.
- Click the cross-list button again.
Anything that already filled stays put.
The description is missing
On eBay, the description is written last, and can take a few seconds after everything else. If eBay wipes it while loading, RelistKit writes it once more. If it's still empty after that, click Copy beside the description in the panel, and paste it into eBay's description box.
The rule behind all of this
RelistKit never guesses and never publishes. An empty field with the right text one click away is always better than a confident wrong value on a live listing.
If you find yourself copying the same field every time, let our team know through Support in the top menu. The panel's Activity list has a Copy button, so you can paste exactly what happened into your message.
Common questions
Do fields that don't fill cost credits?
No. Credits are for writing the listing and for price research, never for filling forms.
What does "Kept your value" mean?
The field already had something in it, typed by you or filled earlier, so RelistKit left it alone. Copy the suggestion if you'd rather use it.
Why does the panel say Partial?
At least one field needs you. Look for the highlighted rows, and follow each note.
Can I stop RelistKit from filling a field?
Not for now. Clear the field on the form before you publish.
Why doesn't Facebook Marketplace have a colour or size for my item?
Facebook only shows some fields for some categories, so those rows say Not on this form.
