Sales That Need Review

Sometimes a sale email arrives, but RelistKit can't match it to an item in your inventory. Rather than guess and mark the wrong item sold, it waits for you. This can also happen with an eBay order your connected eBay account finds. This article explains why a sale ends up waiting, and how to clear it.

Why a sale ends up here

• The listing was never in RelistKit. Maybe it sold from your closet before you imported it, or you listed it somewhere without RelistKit.
• The title on the marketplace no longer matches the item in RelistKit.
• Two items in RelistKit have the same title, and the email doesn't say which one sold.
• The email named no item, or one item from a bundle that sold together.
• The item had already sold somewhere else, so this might be a second sale of the same thing.

A sale that needs review doesn't count in your totals until you deal with it.

1. Open the sale

1. Click Sales in the top menu. If any sales need review, the Needs attention card says so.
2. Click Review on that card. (Or go to All sales, and choose Needs review from the Status dropdown.)
3. Click Review on the sale's row.

A Review this sale panel opens, with what the email said: the item's name, where it sold, the price and the date.

2. Choose what to do

• If one of the closest matches is right, click Link to this item.
• If the right item isn't there, search for it under Or search your inventory by name or SKU, then click Link to this item on the result.
• If the item was never in RelistKit, click Add to inventory as sold. RelistKit adds it as a sold item with the sale's name and price, so your totals stay complete. Open the item afterwards to add what you paid.
• If it isn't your sale, or you don't want it recorded (like a test), click Not my sale, then Not my sale again to confirm. It leaves every report for good.

Linking a sale does three things:

• The sale attaches to that item, and starts counting in your totals.
• The item becomes Sold.
• If the item is listed anywhere else, you get the take-down email (Starter, Growth and Pro), and a connected eBay account ends the eBay listing.

If an item in a bundle sold, each item becomes its own sale, and the price is split between them by each item's price.

Common questions

How long does a sale wait?

As long as you leave it. Nothing else depends on it, but your sales totals are short until you deal with it.

I linked it to the wrong item.

You can't change the item yourself. Contact us through Support, and we'll fix it.

The same sale appears twice.

RelistKit records each order only once, so two sales usually mean two orders. Turn on the Order ID column under Columns on All sales, and compare. If one really is a copy, click Not my sale on it if it's waiting, or the bin on its row if it's recorded.

Two buyers bought the same item.

Cancel one order on its marketplace. The cancellation email marks that sale Cancelled. If no email comes, click Not my sale on it.

I clicked Not my sale by mistake.

It can't be undone. If the item really sold, record the sale yourself (see Record a Facebook or Cash Sale).

Keep RelistKit's records of your listings complete: cross-list through RelistKit, record listings you published yourself under Published it yourself? on the item page, and import your closet.
