Listing Things That Aren't Clothing

RelistKit isn't just for clothing. When you generate a listing, it works out from your photos what kind of item it is, and writes the listing to suit: a mug gets "no chips or cracks" instead of "no holes or stains", a puzzle gets its piece count, and a DVD gets its format and region. It costs the same 1 credit as any listing.

What RelistKit handles

  • Clothing
  • Shoes
  • Bags
  • Jewellery and watches
  • Toys and games
  • Home goods, like mugs, glassware, decor and frames
  • Movies and TV on DVD and Blu-ray

Not yet: pets, electronics other than movies on disc, books, music and video games. For those, RelistKit still writes the title, description and price, and you set the category and any size yourself on each marketplace.

How it works

You list it the same way as anything else (see Your First Listing, Step by Step). You never have to tell RelistKit what kind of item it is.

If you know something the photos can't show, like a ring size or that a watch runs, type it into Poshmark's description before you generate. RelistKit treats it as fact. Fields that already have text are kept as they are, though, so leave the rest empty.

What's different for each kind

  • Shoes: the size exactly as it's printed, like "Size 10" or "EU Size 38". RelistKit never converts sizes. The condition describes sole and heel wear.
  • Bags: no size (Poshmark's "OS", one size). Measurements only when a tape measure is in the photos or they're printed on the bag.
  • Jewellery and watches: a metal is only named when it's stamped, like 925 or 14K. Otherwise it's "Gold Tone" or "Silver Tone". RelistKit never says a watch works, and a ring size is only filled when it's stamped, shown on a ring sizer, or typed in by you.
  • Toys and games: no gender or size in the title. A puzzle gets its piece count, and the line "All pieces included".
  • Home goods: the condition says "no chips or cracks", or names any damage. The brand comes from the maker's mark. With no mark, eBay gets "Unbranded".

Every puzzle gets "All pieces included" unless the photos show missing pieces. If you haven't counted, delete that line before you publish.

On the item page, each kind has its own details instead of clothing sizes. A puzzle, for example, has Pieces, Complete and Ages.

A puzzle's details on its item page: Category Home Games > Puzzles, then Type, Pieces, Complete and Ages (circled)

Movies on DVD and Blu-ray

RelistKit lists DVDs, Blu-rays, 4K UHD Blu-rays and TV box sets in Poshmark's DVDs & Blu-ray Discs category. For the best result, include these photos:

  • the back of the case, flat, with every digit of the barcode readable
  • the front and the spine
  • the disc
  • the shrink-wrap, if it's still sealed

What RelistKit writes:

  • Title: the movie's name, its year and the format, like "Mother India 1957 DVD New Sealed".
  • Condition: "Brand new, sealed" only when the shrink-wrap shows. An opened disc is "Like new" at best.
  • Description: the format and region, discs, run time, stars and director, in RelistKit's own words. It never copies the synopsis from the back of the case.
  • UPC: the number under the barcode, only when every digit is readable.

On eBay, RelistKit fills the details eBay asks for, like Format, Movie/TV Title, Release Year, Rating and Region Code. If the UPC wasn't readable, eBay's UPC box says "Does not apply". Type the UPC in yourself, and eBay may fill in more details for you.

Depop has no category for movies, so the RelistKit panel doesn't offer Depop for them.

Check before you publish

RelistKit lists anything it couldn't confirm under Review before publishing in the panel. For things that aren't clothing, also check:

  • the category on each marketplace, especially on Depop and Facebook Marketplace
  • the condition, and for a DVD, whether it's really sealed
  • a ring size, a watch's working order, and the metal
  • "All pieces included" on a puzzle
  • any eBay detail the panel says you need to pick yourself

Common questions

RelistKit put my item in the wrong category.

It decides from the photos. If the draft already had a category, RelistKit keeps it. Change the category on Poshmark before you publish. Your changes carry over when you cross-list.

Why does it say OS for the size?

Bags, jewellery, toys and home goods are one size on Poshmark. A ring gets its size only when it's stamped, shown on a ring sizer, or typed in by you.

eBay says the UPC "Does not apply".

Not every digit of the barcode was readable. Type the UPC into eBay's UPC box, and check eBay's details match your edition.

It won't fill the category for my book, video game or pet item.

Those aren't supported yet. RelistKit writes the title, description and price. Set the category, and any size, yourself on each marketplace.

Does it cost more for things that aren't clothing?

No. Every listing costs 1 credit, whatever it is.
