Correcting a Sale
Automatic sale detection is very reliable, but the real world can be messy: an email can arrive garbled, a sale you recorded yourself can carry a typo, or a marketplace can change its emails. Every sale has buttons to fix any of it in seconds.
The buttons on each sale
On Sales → All sales, the last column of each row holds up to three buttons:
- Pencil: edit the sale's numbers and date.
- Refund arrow: record or edit a refund (see Refunds and Returns).
- Bin: delete the record entirely.
Edit a sale
- Click the pencil on the sale's row.
- Change Sold for, Fees, You keep, the Shipping label, or the date under Sold on.
- Click Save.
A few things happen for you:
- When you change Sold for or Fees, You keep is worked out again. To keep a different You keep, type it in the same edit.
- On a Facebook Marketplace sale where tax is included, the tax and what you keep are worked out again too.
- Fees and You keep that you type are marked Entered by you, and RelistKit never changes them.
- Changing the date moves the sale into that day in your reports.
- For a sale that isn't linked to an item, you can tick From my own closet, to keep it out of your profit and loss and GST/HST figures.
With your eBay account connected, an eBay sale's Sold for comes from eBay's own order. If you change only Sold for on an eBay sale, eBay's figure comes back at the next check. Correct the fees or You keep instead.
Delete a record
- Click the bin on the sale's row.
- Click Delete to confirm.
Deleting removes the record from RelistKit only: nothing changes on the marketplace, and the item keeps its status.
If a sale was recorded for an item that didn't really sell, don't delete the record: deleting it leaves the item marked Sold. Instead, record a full refund and tick The item came back to me, so the item goes back to your inventory (see Refunds and Returns).
For a sale that's waiting for you to review, use Not my sale instead of deleting (see Sales That Need Review).
Common questions
Will RelistKit overwrite my fixes?
Fees and You keep that you type are never changed. If you recorded a sale yourself and its marketplace email arrives later, the marketplace's figures replace yours, but the sale still counts once.
Why did You keep change when I fixed Sold for?
It's worked out from Sold for and Fees. Type your own You keep in the same edit to keep it.
The date is wrong.
Change Sold on. Every report moves the sale to that day.
Can I change the item or marketplace on a sale?
Not yourself. Contact us through Support, and we'll fix it.
