Automatic Sale Detection
When something sells on Poshmark, eBay, or Depop, the platform emails you. Forward those emails to your RelistKit address and RelistKit records the sale, marks the item sold, and reminds you to take the other listings down. You set it up once, in your email, and it runs by itself after that.
Your forwarding address
Under Settings → Automatic sale detection in the RelistKit app, there's an address that is yours alone. It looks like [email protected] . By setting your email up to forward sales emails to this address, RelistKit can automatically mark items as sold in your inventory and send you links to delist the item from other platforms.

Which emails to forward
Forward everything the three platforms send you. RelistKit keeps the sale and cancellation emails and throws the rest away, so you do not need to pick and choose. These are the exact senders to match:
Platform: Poshmark
Email: [email protected]
Platform: eBay
Email: [email protected]
Platform Depop
Email: [email protected]
Cancellation emails from the same senders are read too: a cancelled order flips the sale to Cancelled and puts the item back to Listed. Shipping, delivery, offer, deposit, and "someone liked your item" emails are discarded unread.
Set up the rule
Use the website of your email provider, not an app on your phone or computer. A rule made in an app only runs while that app is open; a rule made on the website runs on their servers, all the time.
Outlook.com and Hotmail
- Open outlook.live.com, press the gear icon at the top right, then Mail → Rules.
- Press Add new rule. Name it
RelistKit sales. - Under Add a condition choose From, and type
[email protected]. Press Enter so it becomes a chip. - Under Add an action choose Forward to, and paste your RelistKit address (from Settings → Automatic sale detection in the RelistKit app).
- Press Save.
- Repeat for
[email protected]and[email protected], one rule each. (Outlook joins conditions with "and", so one rule with three senders would never fire.)
Outlook forwards to any address without asking for confirmation.
Gmail
Gmail needs two steps: approve the address once, then make the filters.
- Open mail.google.com, press the gear icon, then See all settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
- Press Add a forwarding address, paste your RelistKit address, and press Next → Proceed.
- Gmail now emails a confirmation to that address. In the RelistKit app, visit Settings → Automatic sale detection. Within a few minutes, the confirmation will show there with its code. Press Confirm in Gmail, or copy the code and paste it into Gmail's box.
- Once the address is confirmed, go to Filters and Blocked Addresses → Create a new filter.
- In From, copy and paste this text exactly:
[email protected] OR [email protected] OR [email protected] - Press Create filter, tick Forward it to and pick your RelistKit address, then press Create filter.
iCloud Mail
- Open icloud.com/mail, press the gear icon at the top of the folder list, then Settings → Rules.
- Press Add a Rule. For If a message choose is from, and type
[email protected]. - For Then choose Forward to, and paste your RelistKit address.
- Press Done. Repeat for
[email protected]and[email protected].
Everything else
Use the rules above as a guide to set up forwarding rules to your RelistKit inbox.
Test it
Test with an email you already have, not by waiting for a sale.
- Open an old sale email from any of the three platforms. Pick one for an item you no longer have listed, so the test cannot mark a live listing sold.
- Press Forward, paste your RelistKit address, and send it. A hand forward is fine; RelistKit reads the original sender out of the forwarded message.
- Wait up to five minutes, then look under Sales.
- If the item is in RelistKit, the sale is there with the price, fees, and your profit, and the item now reads Sold.
- If the item was never in RelistKit, which is normal for an old sale, it appears under Sales → Needs review. That means the email arrived and was read correctly. Press Dismiss on it when you are done.
- Check your inbox for an email from RelistKit with the subject "Sold on Poshmark: …" (or eBay, or Depop). It is only sent when the sale was matched to an item, so a Needs review test does not send one.
Forwarding the same sale email twice does nothing: RelistKit recognises the order number and ignores the repeat, so you can test as often as you like.
What happens on a real sale
Within a few minutes of the platform's email: the sale appears under Sales with the price, fees, and your profit; the item's status becomes Sold; and you get the "Sold on …" email with a Take it down everywhere else section, two taps per platform: one opens that listing so you can end it there, the other marks it delisted in RelistKit.
When RelistKit cannot tell which item sold
Sometimes an email names an item RelistKit cannot match, for example a listing that was never in RelistKit, or a title that changed after listing. The sale lands under Sales → Needs review, where you link it to the right item or dismiss it. See Sales that need review.
What is not detected
Facebook Marketplace and cash sales send no email. Record those yourself in the Sales page of the RelistKit app.
When a sale does not show up
Work down this list; each step takes a minute.
- Is the rule on and saved? Open your email rules and check if it's enabled. On Outlook, rules can be switched off individually.
- Is the address exact? Compare the address in the rule with the one under Settings → Automatic sale detection, character by character. Copy it again if in doubt.
- Gmail only: is the forwarding address confirmed? Under Forwarding and POP/IMAP the address should show without a "needs confirmation" note. If it does, complete the verification steps above.
- Did the email come from the right sender? Rules match the sender exactly. A Poshmark email from a different address than
[email protected]will not match; send us the email's sender so we can add it. - Is it under Needs review? Look there before assuming it was lost.
- Was it a sale email at all? Offers, shipping, and payouts are discarded on purpose. For eBay, the sale is recorded from "You got paid for …", not from "You made the sale".
- Still nothing? Visit Support page in RelistKit to open a ticket and tell us the platform, the date and time of the sale email, and the address you forwarded to. We can see whether the email reached your RelistKit address and, if it did, why it was set aside. We do not read the email itself.
Common questions
Is it safe to forward my emails? Only emails sent to your private RelistKit address are received, and only the sale and cancellation emails from the three platforms are read. Everything else is discarded. Buyer names and addresses in the emails are never shown anywhere in RelistKit.
Do I have to forward every email from those senders? No, but it is the simplest rule and it costs nothing: the ones that are not sales are discarded.
Can I forward from my phone instead of making a rule? Yes. Open the sale email, forward it to your RelistKit address, done. The rule just saves you the tap.
Do I get the take-down reminder for every sale? Only when the item is listed somewhere else. If it was only on Poshmark, there is nothing to take down and no reminder.
