Import Your Closet
If you had listings on Poshmark before RelistKit, you don't need to recreate them. One button on your closet page walks through every available listing, reads its details and photos, and adds it to RelistKit. Then you can cross-list any of them. This article explains what the import does, how long it takes, the one risk, and how to run it well. Importing your closet is part of the Growth and Pro plans.
What it does
RelistKit opens each of your listings in your own browser, one at a time, the way you would if you clicked through them yourself, and copies the details and photos into RelistKit. It brings in:
- the title, description, price and photos (up to 16)
- the category, condition, brand, size, colour and style tags
- your SKU and cost, from Poshmark's private fields
It only looks at listings that are available (for sale right now). Sold listings are skipped: they aren't inventory.
It runs at a steady pace: a few seconds per listing, and a short pause every 25 listings. At this slower pace, which we do on purpose so it looks like you clicking through, it imports about 300 listings an hour. A closet of 1,000 available listings takes three to four hours. It pauses itself after 500 listings in one sitting, so a big closet is spread over a few sessions. You can pause any time and pick up later: it remembers exactly where it stopped.
The one risk
Poshmark's Terms of Service prohibit automated tools on their site. The import is technically automation, even though it runs in your browser at a steady pace, only reads your own listings, and changes nothing on Poshmark. Poshmark could still treat it as automation and warn or restrict your account, and RelistKit can't prevent that. That's why RelistKit shows a warning and asks for your OK every time before the import begins. The risk is low, and we haven't seen any action taken as a result of this kind of activity, but it's your account, so the choice is yours.
What you need
- The Growth or Pro plan.
- Chrome on a computer that will stay awake, with the RelistKit extension connected.
- The Poshmark tab open and in front. If it's hidden behind another window, the import waits until you bring it back.
- RelistKit has to know which closet is yours. It learns this the first time you publish a Poshmark listing with RelistKit.
- Time. The RelistKit panel tells you about how long your import will take.
How to run it
- Sign in to Poshmark and open your own closet page.
- Click the RelistKit button in the lower right corner, then Import this closet.
- Read the notice, and click I understand the risk.
- RelistKit switches your closet to the Available view and counts your listings. The panel says how many there are, and about how long they'll take.
- Click Start importing.
- Keep the tab in front, and let it run. The panel shows updates like "Importing your closet: 140 of 1,149 listings".
- Click Pause whenever you need the computer. Click Resume later, even after closing the browser.
When it finishes, the tab goes back to your closet, and the panel says how many listings were added. If any couldn't be read, click Retry failed to give just those another go. You also get an email with the totals.
Only want part of your closet? Search or filter your closet first, like a brand or a department, then click Import this closet. RelistKit imports only the available listings in that view.
What you get
Every listing becomes an item in Inventory in RelistKit, with its photos, exactly as you wrote it on Poshmark. Each one has an Imported from Poshmark tag on its item page. To see them all, open Inventory → Items and choose Recently imported from the dropdown at the top.
From there, make square versions of the photos and cross-list it like any other item (see Before You Cross-list). If any imported item has the same title as one you already had, RelistKit flags it as a possible duplicate (see Imported Items and Duplicates).
Common questions
Do I have to do it all in one sitting?
No. Pause, close the browser, and come back tomorrow. When you open your closet again, the panel offers Resume to carry on from the next listing.
What if Poshmark shows a "verify you are human" check?
RelistKit pauses and tells you. Complete the check yourself on the page, then click Resume. That's exactly the kind of moment the steady pace is meant to avoid. If Poshmark keeps asking, stop for today and pick it up tomorrow.
Does it use credits?
No. Importing copies your own listings: RelistKit doesn't write anything.
Some listings failed.
Usually it's a listing that sold or was removed during the import, or a page that wouldn't load. Click Retry failed to try them again. You can also run Scan for cross-listing on your closet afterwards: any listing that isn't in RelistKit shows Add to RelistKit (see Scan Your Closet for Cross-listing).
I'm on Free or Starter. Can I still bring in my listings?
Yes, one at a time. Scan your closet, and click Add to RelistKit on a listing's card. Importing the whole closet at once comes with Growth and Pro.
Did it bring in my costs?
If you'd entered a cost in Poshmark's private cost field, yes. If not, the item comes in with a cost of $0, so add what you paid under Bought for on its item page (see How RelistKit Counts Your Costs).
What if I run it again?
Nothing is added twice. RelistKit reads your available listings again, adds the new ones, and copies down any changes you've made on Poshmark to the ones it already has. For just a few new listings, scanning your closet and clicking Add to RelistKit is quicker.
